Applications

Custom applications for Alberta small businesses.

Internal tools shaped to your crew's actual workflow. Desktop for the office, mobile for the field — one app, one source of truth.

Pricing

Three tiers. Ranges, not “starting at.”

Simple tool

$1,500 – $3,000

A focused utility that does one thing well.

  • Single workflow, single user type
  • Web-based or mobile — your choice
  • Basic auth if needed
  • Deployment + training

Timeline: 1–3 weeks
Good for: A form-heavy process, a lookup tool, a calculator for your pricing.

Small internal tool

$3,000 – $8,000

A few connected workflows, multi-user.

  • Multi-user with per-role access
  • Dashboard + common workflows
  • Works on desktop; mobile-friendly
  • Integration with one or two existing tools if needed

Timeline: 3–6 weeks
Good for: Small-crew scheduling, simple inventory, a basic CRM that matches your process.

Mid-sized internal tool

$8,000 – $15,000

Multi-workflow, desktop + mobile, production-grade.

  • Dedicated desktop interface and mobile app
  • Multiple user roles and workflows
  • Integrations (payroll, accounting, tools you already run)
  • Ongoing support available after handoff

Timeline: 6–12 weeks
Good for: Something like the Stettler Electric job-tracker — office staff schedule jobs, techs in the field stay in sync.

Larger projects — complex production systems and multi-team builds — are scoped after a deeper discovery call. Have a look at the Stettler Electric case study for a mid-sized example.

Process

How I work.

  1. 01

    Discovery call

We talk through the workflow that's hurting. I need to understand what your crew actually does before I can suggest software.

  2. 02

    Written quote

Fixed price after discovery, milestone-paid for longer builds. You see the full scope before committing.

  3. 03

    Build

Regular demos so you catch course-corrections early. I keep the code private until you're happy with it.

  4. 04

    Handoff

Training for your team, deployment to production, documentation. Thirty-day warranty starts.

Questions

Things people ask before the call.

Why build custom instead of using an off-the-shelf tool?

Off-the-shelf software makes you fit its workflow. Custom software fits yours. That's worth paying for when your process is what makes your business different — and it's not worth paying for if an existing tool already does the job. I'll tell you honestly which camp you're in on the discovery call.

How do you handle data security?

Your data lives on your own hosting — typically Google Cloud or Firebase — under accounts you own. I set up standard authentication, encryption in transit, and backups. I don't store customer data on my infrastructure.

Can you build for both desktop and mobile?

Yes. The Stettler Electric app is desktop for the admin team and mobile for the techs in the field — same data, different views. Most of my application work looks like that.

What about ongoing hosting costs?

I pick affordable hosting sized to your needs. Small tools run on hosting that typically costs under $50/month. Larger tools scale to whatever they actually need; I'll always tell you up front.

Do you hand over the code?

Yes. You own the repository, the infrastructure configuration, and every piece of it. If I disappear tomorrow, another developer can pick up the work.

What if I need new features after handoff?

I quote each feature as a fixed price after we scope it, or work hourly for smaller changes. You decide what's worth doing and when — no recurring commitment.

Why are your prices lower than Calgary agencies?

I'm a solo developer with low overhead. No office, no account managers, no layers between you and the person doing the work. That keeps my prices well below what an agency charges for the same work — and it means you talk directly to the person building your software.
