Terms

How I work together with clients.

Last updated: April 23, 2026.

Using this site

This is a marketing site. Nothing here is a binding offer or a contract. When we agree to work together, we'll sign a short engagement letter that covers scope, price, and timeline — that agreement is what governs the project.

Pricing

The price ranges on this site are typical for the kind of work I do. Your actual price depends on the specifics of your project. Before I start any work, I'll give you a written quote. That quote is what you pay, regardless of how long the work takes me.

Payment

For most projects I take 50% up front and 50% on delivery. For longer engagements we can agree on milestone payments. I invoice as a sole proprietor based in Alberta and GST applies where required.

Ownership

When you've paid the final invoice, you own the code and content I built for you. I keep the right to describe the project publicly — on this site, in case studies, and in conversations with other prospects — unless the engagement letter says otherwise.

Warranty

I'll fix bugs in the delivered work for 30 days after handoff at no cost. After that, ongoing support and new work are quoted on a per-project or hourly basis — whichever suits you. Software comes with the usual caveats: I can't guarantee it's bug-free forever, works on browsers that don't exist yet, or survives changes to third-party services I don't control.

Limits

My liability on any project is capped at what you've paid me for that project. I'm not responsible for indirect or consequential damages (lost revenue, downtime, and similar). Keep your own backups of anything important.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. If we disagree about something and can't sort it out directly, we'll try mediation before anyone talks about courts.
